Taupo has been established since October 2002 and started as a small specialist VMware training company. In those early days most companies viewed virtulisation as an interesting new technology, but due to it still being on version 1.5 it was really something to test and not fully deploy to the enterprise.

Over the next few years VMware released several new versions and built an impressive global client base across a wide range of market sectors. During those years the Taupo team started to build a stronger relationship with VMware and delivered accredited training courses across the world. After the training was completed several clients approached Taupo to deliver high end VMware consultancy and hence the strategic decision was made to become an accredited VMware consultancy company.

In 2007 Taupo was accredited VMware Enterprise partner status and started to deliver solutions to the international clients we had been fortunate enough to train. As the consultancy work increased, the Taupo team spent an increasing amount of time away from home delivering high end VMware training and solutions.

During mid 2008 it was becoming evident that some of our certified trainers/ consultants wanted to spend more time at home and therefore plans were made to expand into the growing domestic UK market.

At the start of 2009 Taupo started to promote its training and consultancy services to the Scottish and UK market and has since further expanded their technical team and brought in new key people including a new MD.
